Cooler Planet 2023
No two exhibition spaces are the same. Venues change, layouts vary, and the way information is presented often needs to adapt with them. Cooler Planet 2023 was designed with this in mind, bringing flexibility to a travelling exhibition while making biomaterial research more accessible for visitors.
Developed for Aalto University's Bio Innovation Center, the exhibition was designed to travel between Helsinki Design Week and Dutch Design Week 2023. This required a design that could adapt to different venues and layouts while remaining easy to transport, assemble, and rearrange.
The solution lay in a flexible table system with adjustable legs that could be reconfigured into multiple heights and layouts. The structures could be placed against a wall, arranged freely within a space, and adapted to a variety of curatorial needs over time. Designed for long-term use, the exhibition continues to travel between Helsinki and Eindhoven today.
By bringing simple structure to complex research, Cooler Planet 2023 helps make material innovations easier to approach, understand, and relate to.
