Halla
The way we use light changes throughout the day. The same lamp might help you read in the morning, light your desk in the afternoon, and create a comfortable atmosphere in the evening.
Halla was designed to move between these moments. By allowing the shade to tilt, the light can be directed where it is needed, whether for brighter illumination during a task or a more relaxed atmosphere in the room.
The project began with a single plank of Ash and a simple challenge: how could we make the most of this one piece of wood? The result is a lamp that is straightforward to produce and easy to adapt. While this version is crafted from Ash, Halla can be made from different types of wood, each bringing its own character.
Named after the Icelandic verb að halla, meaning to tilt or lean, Halla shows how one simple movement can create different lighting experiences without unnecessary complexity.
